Kenya takes on a new project

Team House, Kenya. We first met Charles the headmaster and sole teacher at Pages School in Karanjee, Kenya after hearing of his reputation. Teachers at our senior project Limuru Children Centre-Kindergarten gave testimony of his inspiring passion for teaching despite challenges.

Pages School does not have a playground, a food programme, or many teaching aids – but it does have Charles an amazing artist and enthusiastic man who by teaching with his beautiful illustrations has managed to pass all of his preschool children on to primary school. Charles struggles to make rent at the school, and cannot afford to hire more teachers.

However, these challenges have not stopped his school from growing or him from dreaming of one day having a large school with students of all ages. His passion and talent has certainly caught our attention, and this month four of our volunteers have assisted Charles in the classroom and given the children and parents new hope. Together we chant “PAGES ACADEMY” at the end of each school day.
