ACTS Africa at the 17th ICMDA World Congress: Celebrating 60 Years of Faithfulness

Last month, the ACTS Africa team was fortunate enough to participate in the 17th International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) World Congress in Arusha, Tanzania.

Every four years the ICMDA family gathers for a week of fellowship, sharing, worship, Bible teachings, and prayer. This year’s congress in Arusha held even greater significance as it commemorated the 60th anniversary of ICMDA.

The ICMDA’s journey started in 1963 when 80 delegates from 15 different countries gathered in Amsterdam for the inaugural International Congress of Christian Physicians. Now, six decades later, we were grateful to witness the remarkable growth from 80 to over 1,000 delegates representing over 100 countries worldwide.

As with previous years, the 17th ICMDA World Congress commenced with the World Students’ Conference and simultaneous pre-conference streams for graduates. This set the tone for a week of inspiration and learning.

It is with immense gratitude that we express our appreciation for being a part of this exceptional gathering. Having gained so much from this enriching experience, we are now more inspired than ever to pursue our mission of bringing Christian believers together to serve God on our continent.
